I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
