19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging period, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents his maiden championship after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after that period of that year.
Success also indicates Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 different tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children at once, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, striving to come to the net and play assertively, supported by an better service.
He fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the final five games to take the lead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional victory, seized the initiative to create a final set.
Moutet defended four early opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, he clinched the win with a point at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
